Μπορεί να μη γνώριζα μέχρι πρότινος τι εστί Anna B Savage, αλλά όπως συμβαίνει συχνά, οι ευκαιρίες είναι εκεί για να τις αρπάζεις. Και περίπου αυτό συνέβη και το Σάββατο. Οι συνθήκες τα έφεραν έτσι, ώστε να κατηφορίζω την Ερμού και να πηγαίνω προς το Τemple για ακόμα μία βραδιά.
Γνωρίζοντας τους Moon Moth ήδη, και έχοντας ακούσει λίγα μόνο πράγματα από τη μουσική της Βρετανίδας καλλιτέχνιδας, με είχαν συνεπάρει περισσότερο τα ενθουσιώδη λόγια που είχα ακούσει από οικείους μου, αλλά και τις διθυραμβικές κριτικές μεγάλων περιοδικών και websites, που την αποθέωναν για το ταλέντο και τις μουσικές ιστορίες της.
Moon Moth
Έτσι, έφτασα στο Temple. Ο χειμώνας έδειχνε για τα καλά το πρόσωπό του και μέσα στο Temple έβρισκες τη θαλπορή, που ήθελες. Μία μπύρα και οι Moon Μoth ήταν ήδη στην σκηνή. Ζεστοί και σκοτεινοί συνάμα. Οι Moon Moth, με μία κιθάρα, τύμπανα, synth, πλήκτρα, αλλά και δύο μαγικές φωνές, έδωσαν το πιο ατμοσφαιρικό opening act, που θα μπορούσε να είχε η Anna B Savage στην εμφάνισή της στην Αθήνα. Φώτα, ήχοι από το περιβάλλον, και δεμένες χροιές, μας έκαναν να τους χαζεύουμε και να νιώθουμε ότι η ώρα πέρασε πολύ γρηγορότερα από το κανονικό.

Έπαιξαν λίγο; Ναι! Αλλά η συνεχής παρουσία τους σε live δείχνει ότι η μαγεία τους έχει βρει αντίκρυσμα, μαζί με θερμούς υποστηρικτές.

Και η στιγμή, που η Anna B Savage θα ανέβαινε στην σκηνή, πλησίαζε. Λίγα λεπτά αφού οι Moon Moth μας είχαν πει “καληνύχτα’’, είδαμε τη Βρετανίδα να εμφανίζεται και να στήνει το σκηνικό, όπως ήθελε. Λιτή και χαρούμενη, έφυγε στα παρασκήνια, για να εμφανιστεί λίγο αργότερα μέσα στο ρυθμό της.
Η εμφάνισή της, απλή και ταυτόχρονα λαμπερή. Με την κιθάρα της, τα synth της και το παγούρι της. Αυτά τη συνόδευαν από την πρώτη νότα του “Corncrakes’’. Κάπου εκεί πρέπει να ήταν που το παραμύθι έδωσε τη θέση του στην πραγματικότητα. Μελωδική, με τη μοναδική φωνή της που σε μαγεύει, μας ταξίδεψε σε μπαλάντες, όπως το “Hungry’’ και το “Ι Can Hear The Birds Now’’ από το δεύτερο δίσκο της, “In|Flux’’.

Με το χιούμορ, που χάριζε αυθόρμητα ανάμεσα στα κομμάτια, και την αυτοπεποίθηση, που εξέπεμπε on stage, η Anna B Savage, συνέχισε με μικρά βήματα στις πιο ηλεκτρονικές συνθέσεις της. “Bedstuy’’ και “Crown Shyness’’ ξεσήκωσαν όσους και όσες γνώριζαν ήδη τα κομμάτια, αλλά τελικά όλοι και όλες ακολούθησαν στο ρυθμό της. “The Ghost’’, “Pavlov’s Dog’’ και “in|FLUX’’, στη συνέχεια, με τα προβλήματα στον ήχο να εμποδίζουν την αυθεντική αυτή persona να μας παρουσιάσει τα τραγούδια της. Αλλά, όχι για πολύ!
Οι λύσεις υπάρχουν για να βρίσκονται, και μένουμε στο χωροχρόνο, που η ίδια δημιουργεί με την αύρα, την αέρινη θεατρική φωνή και τις έντονες εκφράσεις της. “Feet Of Clay’’, “Say My Name’’ και “Baby Grand’’, τα επόμενα. Η φωνή της μας λυγίζει και τα μάτια όλων μας είναι πάνω της. Λάμπει όσο ερμηνεύει και παίζει, με έναν τρόπο, που καθιστά πασιφανές γιατί ξεχώρισε από την πρώτη στιγμή.
Και για το φινάλε, “The Orange’’. Στο κοινό ακούστηκε και ένα “Dead Pursuits’’. Αλλά δεν το παίζει στα live, και δεν κάνει encore, όπως μας προετοίμασε. Αυτό ήταν όντως το τελευταίο κομμάτι στο setlist της. “The Orange’’, λοιπόν, και “If this is all that there is.’’
Τα φώτα ανάβουν, η ίδια φεύγει από την σκηνή και ο χρόνος ξεκινά και πάλι. Δεν υπάρχουν πολλά να πεις. Ακόμα και όσοι/-ες δεν την ξέραμε, εκείνο το βράδυ τη γνωρίσαμε. Και ήταν ό,τι πιο λιτό και ταλαντούχο έχουμε δει και ακούσει τελευταία. Και σίγουρα μόλις τώρα ξεκινάει!
